He has something to say-not just to be saying something, but to say something through his music that has real substance. “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” (Phil Wickham).

Wickham’s alternative/Pop/Rock sound continues to evolve more and more into a fascinating work of art. While his music is described as being: Mesmerizing, atmospheric, captivating, stunning, soaring, lavish and poetic-for Wickham, this description may be an accurate assessment of his music, but at the same time, it may also be distracting. Wickham has been careful to develop and sculpt out an original unique musical identity for himself, not wanting to be lumped into a category defined by the typical meaningless buzz words in the music industry. Wickham’s carefully crafted genius is so to not be musically limited or misunderstood.

He settled into domestic life and was content to play the guitar as a hobby until his wife, Wanda, influenced him to do an album.  Although it had not occurred to him previously, Bowman thought it was a good idea and began his music career.  In May 1996, Bowman printed up 2,000 album copies, himself, and started promoting his album around Detroit. The city's jazz radio station WJZZ started playing four tracks concurrently “Give Me You“, “Love, Joy, Peace“, “I'll Be There“, and “Speak To Me“ in heavy rotation, and thousand CDs on consignment at a Detroit record stores were sold in five weeks.

The brilliance and magnitude of creation is an awesome concept to understand and relate to.  Wickham through his music expresses that and paints images a loving and creative God across the canvases of his listener’s hearts and minds. Through his music he encourages his listeners to pause and compels them to consider the wonder of creation and the world around them.
“It’s falling from the clouds, a strange and lovely sound I hear it in the thunder and rain, It’s ringing in the skies like cannons in the night. The music of the universe plays.” Wickham’s ultimate hope is that his music will inspire his listeners to look outside of themselves to the world around them and truly worship. “I don’t ever want to leave the stage without giving people something to chew on, something to respond to.”
Singer/Songwriter Phil Wickham, from San Diego, California, is on the scene, and it looks and sounds like he’s arrived just in time.......

To date Wickham has release five CDs, Give You My World  Give in 2003, a self-titled album in 2006, Cannons in 2007, singalong in 2008, and his latest “Heaven & Earth”. The theme of the album comes from a chapter in Donald Miller’s book “Searching for God Known What”, exploring the idea of how all humans have a longing for the way things once were, in the beginning. A longing to be in the relationship we were created to be a part of with the Creator. “Eden”, Coming Alive”, “Heaven & Earth”, “The Time Is Now”, “Safe” and “Cielo”, are some of the songs feature on the album, which is hailed as a success.
I want to run on greener pastures, I want to dance on higher hills…my soul is getting restless for the place where I belong.
